the Twins win the their first game of the grapefruit league 8-4 over the Boston Redsox.
Now I will be honest, I didn't listen to the whole game. By the time guys named "Dinklemen" and "Parmelee"
were hitting the field for the twins, I was fairly confident they had it in the bag. So what I gathered from the Box score is Carl Pavano was sharp, as was Nishioka. the twins are off to a good start. only about 7 months till the playoffs!

But who were they playing against? Who did Boston have on the mound and at bat? I have a suspicion that most teams take it pretty easy pre-season and let the rookies get some practice in. Hopefully Boston was actually trying and we squashed them.
ReplyDeleteYes your suspicion is right on, especially in the early games of spring training. The players who you might actually recognize are out of the game by the 3rd or 4th. though you will probably see bullpen pitches throw 1 or 2 innings here or there. The Redsox started most of their A team. They actually got more at bats then the twins' starting guys! thank you for the question!
